Organizations

AACE - Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineers
SIS has three of its staff members certified through AACE as PSP - Planning and Scheduling Professional.  Since 1956, AACE International, has provided its members with the resources they need to enhance their performance and ensure continued growth and success. AACE International - Promoting the Planning and Management of Cost and Schedules.  SIS is actively involved with the Portland Chapter of AACE.

Lean Construction Institute: Lean Construction and Scheduling and Information Services, Inc. Construction Schedules
Lean Construction is a production management-based approach to project delivery -- a new way to design and build capital facilities. Lean production management has caused a revolution in manufacturing design, supply and assembly. Applied to construction, Lean changes the way work is done throughout the delivery process. Lean Construction extends from the objectives of a lean production system - maximize value and minimize waste - to specific techniques and applies them in a new project delivery process.

PMI: PMI and Scheduling and Information Services, Inc. Construction Schedules
The Project Management Institute is a leading professional association in project management. Members can take advantage of the extensive products and services offered through PMI including education and training, professional standards development, research, and reference/ research center.

NWCCC:  NWCCC and Scheduling and Information Services, Inc. Construction Schedules
The Northwest Construction Consumer Council (NWCCC) is the only organization focusing on owners’ needs in the design and construction of capital facilities. The NWCCC provides a regional forum to explore best practices in cost-effective design and construction. The Council is committed to providing an owners’ forum for information, education and professional networking among construction professionals.


Software

P6 - P3:
Primavera’s P6 - P3 program is the primary tool for scheduling your larger, more complicated projects, ranging in size from $1,000,000 to $500,000,000 P6 - P3 is a true CPM program that supports multi-user environments, check in/ out, sophisticated resource loading, custom reports, and if needed, cost loading capabilities. P6 - P3 does have the capability to import and read Suretrak files if they have been set up correctly. The major limiting factor to using P6 - P3 is the cost of the program, retailing for around $4,500. Although Primavera doesn't sell P3, we still support and utilize it depending on the project requirements.

Suretrak:
Primavera’s Suretrak is program is the program of choice for projects for small to mid-size and larger projects. It is ideal for those projects under about $5,000,000. Suretrak is a CPM program that supports resource loading, custom reports, custom layouts, and, if needed, cost loading capabilities. Suretrak does have the capability to import and read P6 - P3 files. Suretrak is the most affordable of Primavera’s products, retailing for around $400.00.

Pertmaster:

Risk Analysis Software that analyzes Primavera schedules for finish dates and costs variances answering the following questions:
What is the most likely time my project will take?
What is the chance of finishing the project on time?
What chance is there of finishing the project on the 5th May?
What date can I be 80% confident of finishing by?
What tasks are most likely to cause project delay?
The software costs about $3,000.


Prolog Manager:

Meridian's Prolog Manager delivers in-depth project management features across projects and programs in the areas of: collaboration, purchasing management, scheduling, cost control, document management, and field administration.

Crystal Reports:
Business Objects (formerly Seagate Software), Crystal Reports program is used to summarize, group, chart, sort, and display your data for easy analysis and review. Crystal can connect to many different types of data sources.

MS Project:
Microsoft Office Project Standard 2003 integrates easily with Microsoft Office and runs about $600. Mainly designed for small projects by Microsoft.
